MetaWrap TimeConverter , Build 9

Here (Download) is the latest version (Build 9) of the MetaWrap time converter which replaces the previous version (Build 8)

This build fixes

  • Some reported bugs in the timezone data
  • A visual update issue in the GPS code.
  • A bug in the time calculation when you switch timezones (reported by one of my more jet-setting users)
  • Includes the new US timezone rules that just came into effect. Thankyou the people that contacted me about this.
  • Includes the new Perth timeone rule. A little late, but nobody seemed to notice ๐Ÿ™‚

To upgrade you can either,

Choose Uninstall on the tool-tip menu on your current version and run the new one

Select Exit via the tool-tip menu and replace your current mwtimeconverter.exe executable and add the new dlls, and then run it by double clicking on it.

Mate, i love the app you have created!!
Any chance of adding a dot for Samoa.

    Either way many thanks!

  2. I will add Samoa in the next version.

In the meantime, here is a replacement .exe that contains Apia,Samoa

I want to thank you for this wonderful world map time-zone program. It appears that timezone of Australia is not yet corrected fully in Rel 9. Between Singapore and Sydney the timezone difference is +2Hrs but metawrap shows as +3hrs. Hope you could correct the discrepancy.

  4. I see what you mean – I’ve not been keeping an eye on timezone changes in my own country ๐Ÿ™‚

    Here is an update

hey man! I found that city Kiev marked as Russia!

no,no…. It’s wrong. Kiev is Ukraine!

btw. all other ukrainian cities are Ukraine too ๐Ÿ™‚

    cheers, good job!

Love the app – but the former Soviet bloc countries are wrong. In addition to all former countries in the former USSR, there is no longer Czechoslovakia – there are now two countries Czech Republic and Slovakia. And Yugoslavia no longer exists. Any chance of updating the European geography to reflect the current political borders?

    Just for your information…
Venezuela local time has been changed recently from GMT-4:00 to GMT-4:30

    Hi James,
Great tool that I was introduced to quite by accident whilst at work on a cruise ship!! I have installed at home & I love the graphics – the only suggestion I have is to make it BIGGER! It can be quite hard to see and such a little box on such a big screen….
    Best regards,

    Hi James,

I was a big fan of Iridium and just downloaded the MW time converter. Its an awesome application. It would be nice if it the window could be made bigger and a resizing option included. Hope to see it in future versions.

    Hi James

Nice app. I like particularly the indication of day/night around the world.
Seems that you’ve not had time updating it any more.

Wonder if you would “opensource” this so that others can update it when needed?
Hate to see a great app die due to lack of updates.
